Cookie Policy
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. Similar technologies include local storage and mobile app identifiers. Go Gym is operated by Go Gym App Limited, a company registered in England and Wales. How we handle personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy.
Essential storage
We store your cookie consent choice in your browser's local storage under the key go-gym-cookie-consent. This is necessary for the site to remember whether you have accepted or declined optional cookies. It is not a tracking cookie and does not leave your device.
The authenticated web app also uses essential cookies and storage to keep you signed in (our authentication provider, Supabase). Those are required for the logged-in product to work and are not used for advertising.
Your consent
When you first visit the Go Gym website or web app, a banner asks whether you accept optional cookies. If you accept, we load the tools described below. If you decline, those tools are not loaded. You can reset this choice by clearing site data in your browser settings and revisiting the site.
The mobile app does not use browser cookies. It asks separately, in the app, whether you want to share anonymous product analytics with PostHog.
PostHog (product analytics)
PostHog is our product analytics and error-logging tool. It runs on PostHog's EU cloud. Events are tied to an internal user ID only. We do not send names, email addresses, or health and fitness fields to PostHog.
- Authenticated web app (
app.go-gym.app) - PostHog loads only if you accept optional cookies. It may set a cookie plus local storage so analytics can persist across tabs. - Mobile app - PostHog loads only if you accept in-app analytics. That choice is stored on the device, not as a website cookie.
- Marketing site (
www.go-gym.app) - PostHog is not loaded on the public marketing site.
On the web app, session replay may run with form fields and sensitive screens masked. On mobile, session replay is off unless we later enable it; if we do, inputs remain masked.
Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4)
With your consent, the marketing site and the authenticated web app load Google Analytics (measurement ID G-WR55R7Z2CV) to collect anonymised usage data such as pages visited and general traffic patterns. Google Analytics sets cookies such as _ga and _ga_* on your device. No analytics cookies are set if you decline consent.
Advertising cookies (Google AdSense)
With your consent, the marketing site loads Google AdSense (publisher ID ca-pub-1200144947372260), which may set cookies to serve advertisements. Google may use these cookies to personalise ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. No AdSense script is loaded if you decline consent. AdSense is not loaded in the authenticated web app or the mobile app. For more information on how Google uses advertising data, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Managing cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Blocking essential storage may affect sign-in on the web app. You can also opt out of Google's use of advertising cookies by visiting Google Ads Settings.
