Food & macro tracker
Go Gym is a food tracker app for the UK that keeps the useful parts and drops the clutter. It works as a calorie tracker and a macro tracker in one: log a meal with barcode scanning, see calories and a macro breakdown, and check your daily totals at a glance. No subscription to count your own food.
Free to join. Launching in the UK first, waitlist members get early access.
What the food tracker does
Most diet apps make calorie tracking feel like data entry. Go Gym is built to be quick: add what you ate, get an honest daily total, and get on with your day.
Add a meal in a few taps. Reuse recent foods and saved meals so logging breakfast or your usual lunch takes seconds, not minutes.
Scan the barcode on a packet to pull in the food and its nutrition, then adjust the portion. Quicker than typing out every item by hand.
See calories per food and a running daily total against your target, so you know where you stand without doing the maths yourself.
Track protein, carbs, and fat alongside calories. A clear macro breakdown helps if you are eating for fat loss, maintenance, or muscle gain.
Built around UK food
A lot of calorie trackers were built for the US first, so you end up searching for products that are not on the shelves here and guessing at portions in unfamiliar units. Go Gym is built in the UK with UK eating in mind, so barcode scanning and food search line up with what you actually buy.
Scan a packet from a UK supermarket, confirm the portion, and the calories and macros are logged. When something is not in the database you can add it once and reuse it, so your common foods get faster to log over time.
Free, with no paywall
Several well-known food trackers have moved core features behind a subscription. Barcode scanning, once free, now sits behind a paywall in some of them. Go Gym takes the opposite approach: the food tracker is free, including barcode scanning, calorie tracking, and the macro breakdown.
Nothing about logging your own food is capped. Paid plans only ever add bonus content on top, such as a no-ads tier and PT-approved workout programmes. If you never pay a penny, you still get a complete food and macro tracker.

Part of the all-in-one
Food tracking is most useful when it is not stuck in its own app. In Go Gym, what you eat lives alongside your workouts, habits, and weight, so a weekly review shows the full picture instead of four disconnected screens.
Who it's for
If you have never counted calories before, start simple. Log what you eat, watch the daily total, and learn what your meals actually add up to.
Set a calorie target and a protein goal, then use the macro breakdown to stay on track through a cut or a lean bulk.
If you are tired of paywalls and clutter, this is a lighter food tracker that keeps barcode scanning and macros free.
